Blocking Users
This page explains how the Block feature works on Front Page and how it affects interactions between users.
The Block feature allows users to protect their privacy and control who can interact with them on the platform.
When a user blocks someone, interaction visibility between both users becomes restricted across profiles, posts, comments, replies, and reactions.
Accessing the Block Option
Users can block another user directly from their profile page.
Steps:
- Open the user’s profile page.
- Click or tap the three-dot ellipses menu (⋮).
- Select Block.
Result of Blocking a User:
After a user is blocked:
- The blocker can no longer see:
- Previous reactions made by the blocked user
- Comments made by the blocked user
- Replies made by the blocked user
on their posts.
- The blocked user can no longer see:
- Previous reactions made by the blocker
- Comments made by the blocker
- Replies made by the blocker
on their posts.
- Both users cannot see each other’s:
- Reactions
- Comments
- Replies
on third-user posts (posts created by other users).
- Other users can still see all previous interactions between both blocked users.
Community and Post Visibility After Blocking
Blocking does not completely remove visibility inside shared communities.
Example Scenario
- User 1 blocks User 2.
- Both User 1 and User 2 are still members of User 3’s community.
In this case:
- User 1 and User 2 can still view posts shared inside User 3’s community if they are members of that community.
- Blocking restricts direct interaction visibility between the blocked users, but does not completely hide shared community content.
If User 1 and User 2 both create posts inside User 3’s community:
- Both users can still see each other’s posts within User 3’s shared community.
- Previously shared community posts remain visible based on community visibility settings.
- Public posts may also remain visible depending on post visibility settings.
Existing Community Posts
If User 1 previously created posts inside User 2’s community before blocking:
- User 2 can still view those existing posts within their community.
Similarly:
- If User 2 previously created posts inside User 1’s community before blocking,
- User 1 can still view those existing posts.
Interaction Restrictions After Blocking
Even though posts may remain visible in shared communities:
- Blocked users cannot directly interact with each other.
- They cannot see each other’s:
- Reactions
- Comments
- Replies
- Blocked users cannot create new direct community interactions with each other after blocking.
What Happens After Blocking
- The blocked user will not receive a notification that they were blocked.
- Existing direct interaction visibility becomes restricted.
- Blocking helps maintain a safer and more controlled environment for users on the platform.
